last night was absolutely nothing less than amazing. we got all doll’d up and HP took me to the nicest restaurant in portland for drinks and dessert - complete with a full view of the city from a window booth on the 30th floor! it was stunning and beautiful. we sat down just as the sun was setting and by the time we left, the city was aglow with lights. absolutely beautiful, that was the first time we’d ever gone for drinks and dessert - and what a treat at portland city grill!

still hungry since we hadn’t had an actual meal yet, we hit up our fave McMenamin’s for dinner and even scored a romantic, private booth. the perfect ending to a perfect night on the town.  =)

i went dress shopping last night. =)   i am on a mission to buy as many summer dresses i can find and afford. i’m indulging in my feminine side lately and what better way than with summer dresses??!!

it has literally been YEARS since i went shopping for dresses that weren’t JUST for a special occasion (though out of the 3 dresses i bought, one will be set aside for dinner tuesday night!) and it was an absolute pleasure to try them all on. i must have tried 15 or so total, spinning and twirling in each one to get the full effect. it was like being a girl again!

i spent my whole life avoiding dresses like the plague. i was too concerned with being outside and covering up my chubby legs. but now that i’ve grown both physically and emotionally/mentally, i’m at a different place in my life. though i wouldn’t have been caught dead in 80% of the dresses on those racks, i was able to find 3 amazing ones!!

so yay for being a girl and being proud of it. this is a big step for me. now if it would kindly warm up enough for me to actuallly wear them, that’d be great, thanks. :)
